Job Description:
Nationally recognized Pipeline company is actively seeking a I&C Electrical
Drafter to join their growing team in Colorado Springs, CO.
Job Description:
The Senior Drafting Technician is responsible for producing Instrumentation, Control and Electrical (IC&E) and
Plant drawings required for supporting business objectives associated with the planning, design, maintenance, and
operation of natural gas pipelines and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Completes drafting projects related to plant automation, compressor and meter stations.
Creates drawings using AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electric software applications.
Completes drawings related to the transmission of natural gas in the pipeline industry
to include, but not limited to: One Line Diagrams, Interconnect Wiring Diagrams,
Motor
Schematics, Conduit/Cable Schedules, PLC Design and Documentation Packages, Physical
Drawings including Lighting Plans, Power Plans, P&ID, Conduit Routing Plans, Plot Plans, Piping Detail Drawings
and Grounding Plans.
Applies various electrical symbols used for drafting applications of natural gas facilities
Familiar with Raster design and imaging used for CAD overlays.
Learns and incorporates terminology and acronyms of the natural gas industry into drawings and related work
outputs.
Works in a team environment with Project Managers, Design Engineers, and other Drafters in multi-discipline
groups.
Proofs and checks own work and work of others prior to review by Designers.
Works in conjunction with CADD drafters and technicians and under general supervision.
Exercises and applies commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the pipeline industry to drafting
assignments.
Plans, completes, and meets deadlines for assigned tasks and projects which vary in size and complexity.
Required Experience:
- 5 or more years of experience in instrumentation design, preferably with oil and gas experience
- Experience in other heavy industrial instrumentation projects considered
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
